About VTM (Vehicle Test Manager)

Vehicle TestManager (VTM)  was developed to satisfy the requirements set out by the Department Of Transport for the Vehicle Roadworthiness testing of both light and heavy commercial vehicle.

On 23rd January 2004, after a thorough testing process, Vehicle TestManager (VTM) was approved by the Department of Transport (Ireland) for test centres to return the roadworthiness test records to the Department.

VTM is user friendly and designed to easily incorporate future enhancements and future state requirements and regulations.

Because VTM was developed in conjunction with authorised test centres, testers and mechanics we know that the application will not only satisfy the testers requirements but supersede them.

VTM is widely used throughout Ireland for the testing of commercial HGV and LGV vehicles under the VTN (Irish Vehicle Testing Network).

Vehicle TestManager (VTM) Features:

  • Accredited by Department-of-Transport.  The only such application that has undergone detailed assessment by the Department of Transport .  Fully compliant with the Department of Transport's requirements for computerised test record returns.
  • Test Header and Criteria Printouts VTM has the ability to print out all the Test Headers and their relevant fail items straight from the application. These printouts can be used as check sheets and / or as a reference for testers, or exported to Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word etc.
  • Dual-classification system.  Our unified system manages both Heavy and Light vehicle tests.  Therefore records do not need to be duplicated on two systems, Form lay-outs are identical for both classifications leading to a user-friendly process for the users.
  • Printouts for test header items, application, result report, and detailed listing of fail-reasons.  Printouts have standardised layout.  All printouts that are given to the customer include your test-centre name and contact details.
  • Test Reminders - VTM lets you print reminder letters to owners of vehicles that are due for their next test. The reminder includes the details of the previous test and invites the owner to contact the test centre to arrange a new test.
  • Test Result printout includes detailed listing of each fail/ rectified fail reason each fail/ rectified item, and the fail location where specified.
  • Fault Location Maps -  Visual clickable fail-reason Location Maps where appropriate, including Wheels, Body, and Doors-and-Glass maps.
  • Summary Listing Tests.  You can list summary details of all tests that match your search criteria – for example, within the last month, for a certain vehicle, for a certain tester, with a certain result etc.
  • Finding a Test   Searching for tests could not be easier. You can find all tests that match your search details – for example, within the last month, for a certain vehicle, etc.  You can open the full details of any particular test found.
  • Decelerometer -  VTM's allows Decelerometer brake tests.
  • Issuing Authority Certificate Booklets – VTM makes it easy to manage the booklets of 50 Issuing Authority Certificates.
  • Certificate issuing and cancelling - Fool-proof, secure, and easy-to-use certificate issuing and correction of mistakes.
  • User Management Each test center manages their own users and permissions.
  • Easy-to-manage Owner, Vehicle, and Customer records
  • Invoicing with automatic calculation of fees and VAT.
  • Bar-coding - Convenient bar-coding for Vehicle registration numbers and test certificates.
  • Touch-screen.  VTM includes a numeric and alpha numeric touch pad for easy use. (Keyboard and mouse can also be used at the same time as the touch screen)
  • Configuration preferences so that each test-centre can tailor the system to their requirements, preferences, and defaults.
  • DoT Returns files are easy to produce, and mistakes are easily corrected.
    Future Proof We at Digital Forecourt pride ourselves in our scalable and object based solutions. This allows us to easily implement new changes to VTM to meet the department of transports future requirements. VTM is already built to work with the departments changes to the Light Vehicle Testing regime and weight classification changes (soon to be released).
